Yogyakarta, 6 June, 2024 - PT Bank Jago Tbk, a technology-based bank embedded in the digital ecosystem, once again supports the Bisnis Indonesia Goes to Campus 2024 event. This year, the event kicked off at Gadjah Mada University (UGM) on Thursday, 6 June, 2024.
In the kickoff event series of Bisnis Goes to Campus 2024, Bank Jago presented two main topics often faced by the younger generation, especially students. The first topic was "Becoming an Investment Expert at a Young Age, Is It Possible?", which emphasized the importance of early financial management and investment.
The second session, themed "Navigating the Career Landscape: From Student to Thriving Professional," provided a deeper insight on the increasingly complex and competitive challenges in the job market, especially regarding the scarcity of human resources (HR) and the gap in digital competencies.
The event, attended by hundreds of UGM students from various fields of study, featured several speakers including Head of Transaction Services at Bank Jago, Widiarto Proboprasetyo; Head of People & Culture at Bank Jago, Pratomo Soedarsono; and PR & Corporate Communication Lead at PT Bibit Tumbuh Bersama, William.
In his session, Widiarto Proboprasetyo urged young people, especially UGM students, to strive for financial independence by understanding good financial management and investment from an early age.
"One of their challenges is developing the ability to manage finances wisely and early on. Good financial management should be practiced early to minimize uncertainty and lack of knowledge in preparing for the future," Widiarto explained.
Based on these issues, he added that there are currently numerous digital financial applications that facilitate young generations to manage their finances wisely. One such application is the Jago App, with its Pocket feature.
"Bank Jago recognizes the importance of building positive and productive financial habits through investment. Thus, the Jago App also provides the Pocket feature that can be connected to the Bibit App, making it easier for anyone to invest," he continued.
This aligns with William's statement, who views knowledge about investment as a crucial aspect of financial management that should be understood early. This is what drives Bibit, as an online mutual fund selling agent (APERD), to collaborate with Bank Jago by offering integrated investment services through the Jago App.
"The collaboration with Bank Jago brings various innovative features to the Bibit and Jago App, making it safe, easy, fast, and seamless for users to invest. For almost three years, our collaboration has helped many Indonesians to plan, discipline, and achieve their financial goals," said William.
In the second session, Pratomo Soedarsono shared Bank Jago's experience in innovating, not only in banking services but also in building an agile work culture and ensuring the availability of digital talent through the Jago Digital Academy (JDA).
"The scarcity of ready-to-work human resources (HR) and the digital competence gap are the main challenges for tech-based banks to grow sustainably. This is why Bank Jago created JDA," Pratomo explained. JDA is a learning platform developed in collaboration with the information technology company DKatalis and leading universities in Indonesia to empower, prepare, and grow talent ready to face the digital era.
Currently, JDA has developed self-learning programs for 50 fields of study divided into over 200 learning modules, focusing on three skill tracks: product management, engineering, data science, banking, and soft skills. The learning methods also use various approaches, from self-paced learning, AI-augmented, digital banking use cases, to group mentoring and hackathons.
"Besides students, the JDA program is also open to employees, ecosystem partners, and the general public. Our hope is to shape and produce human resources who not only have a digital mindset but are also ready to enter the workforce," concluded Pratomo.
