Jakarta – Welcoming the fasting month and Eid al-Fitr, PT Bank Jago Tbk is encouraging the public to wisely manage their personal and business finances through a series of financial literacy activities involving thousands of local entrepreneurs from various regions across Indonesia. These financial education sessions are being conducted both in-person (offline) and online via social media platforms.
This series of financial literacy activities is part of Bank Jago's campaign themed “Beragam Cara untuk Kebaikan di Bulan Ramadhan” (Various Ways to Do Good in Ramadan). In addition to financial education, Bank Jago also encourages people to spend rightly by prioritizing essential needs and supporting local business products.
Waasi Sumintardja, Head of Sharia Business at Bank Jago, stated that personal and family expenses usually rise during Ramadan or approaching Eid, in line with rising needs or impulsive shopping habits that are hard to avoid. "Especially if we're also running a business, it's not uncommon for cash flow to get stuck due to the obligation to pay employee allowances while also ensuring raw material availability for smooth production," Waasi explained during an iftar (breaking fast) event with the media on Tuesday, March 4.
The financial education emphasizes the importance of separating budgets for various needs, including personal and business expenses, to avoid mixing them, as well as allocating funds for mitigating risks and uncertainties. To educate a wider audience, Bank Jago is collaborating with several prominent influencers, including Ayu Ting Ting, Ferry Irwandi, Andovi Da Lopez, and Gilang Baskara, to provide education on economic conditions, financial literacy, and the necessity of social action to support local entrepreneurs.
"They joined live shopping sessions on the @jadijago TikTok account to provide education and help promote excellent local business products. They are not only supporting local businesses but also participating in boosting the national economy," Waasi said.
Out of thousands of local business participants, 24 selected local entrepreneurs received a promotion opportunity in live shopping sessions with various influencers on the @jadijago TikTok account from February 17-28, 2025.
"I'm happy to be part of Bank Jago's campaign that supports local entrepreneurs to grow by managing their finances wisely. I hope through this initiative, local entrepreneurs will be even more successful at the right moment, because Ramadan is a blessed month for sharing goodness," said Ayu Ting Ting.
The results of this campaign have received positive responses from participating local entrepreneurs. They admitted to understanding financial management better, especially with the help of the Jago App. In addition, the campaign also helped increase transactions, both for Bank Jago and for the local businesses themselves.
One of the local entrepreneurs participating in the Bank Jago campaign is Muhammad Budi Utama, founder of the Muslim fashion brands Hikayat Collection and Kalian.id. The entrepreneur from Pekanbaru, Riau, shared that his highest sales occurred when his products received promotional opportunities.
"After participating in Bank Jago's live shopping, our sales surged extraordinarily, increasing up to 19 times from the daily average sales. The response we received was very positive because our marketing reach expanded to cities outside Pekanbaru," Muhammad stated.
Furthermore, Budi also admitted that he was greatly helped by the Pocket features in the Jago Syariah Application he uses, especially for managing business finances and cash flow. With sharia principles, he also experienced comfort in transacting in accordance with the values he adheres to.
Positive recognition also came from Lucia Angelika Sugeng, owner of "Dapoer Kuno" sambal brand from Surabaya, East Java. The 29-year-old woman expressed her happiness and gratitude for being selected to participate in the live shopping, allowing her sambal products to be promoted.
"I was very happy to join Jago and Jago Syariah's live shopping because our sales increased rapidly, and even Dapoer Kuno's TikTok account followers grew by more than 1,000 in just one night. I also started using the Jago Application to save business profits, which offers many ways within the app," said Lucia, who is usually called Cik Jun.
As part of the ““Beragam Cara untuk Kebaikan di Bulan Ramadhan” campaign, Bank Jago collaborated with Dompet Dhuafa to hold an online Ramadan kajian (lecture) from March 1-3, 2025, featuring prominent Islamic scholars, such as Ustadz Hilman Fauzi, Zahid Samosir, and Risyad Baya’sud. Bank Jago and Dompet Dhuafa also invited the public to participate in a donation program, by giving a Rp 25,000 cashback to new Jago and Jago Syariah customers, which was then channeled for the empowerment of local businesses in various regions across Indonesia.
"This was Bank Jago’s first campaign using a live shopping platform. The positive impact is tremendous because it not only encourages the public to manage finances more wisely but also invites them to help local businesses grow," Waasi concluded.
