It's difficult to save properly, so in the past years Purnama Siregar was not able to buy qurban. However, this year Purnama managed to have a qurban savings and has already buy a qurban for Eid al-Adha. What changed?
Jago Syariah Pocket Making It Easier to be Discipline to Have a Qurban Savings
Purnama admits that her biggest obstacle in managing finances is a lack of proper self-control.
“With regard to financial difficulties, there really aren't any, especially since I have a small family. My problems with finances are more towards a lack of self-control. So it's not like I couldn’t set aside money for qurban. Saving money properly, that's still difficult for me.”
Fortunately, Purnama took part in a cash flow therapy event with financial planner Nadia Harsya organized by Bank Jago.
“I joined the event to get insights on how to control myself and manage my finances better. It was then that it was explained that by using Jago Syariah we can create many Pockets to separate funds from various needs."
Purnama was then interested in installing the Jago application and immediately registering for a Jago Syariah account that complies with sharia principles with the Wadiah Yad Dhamanah akad for the Pocket feature and the Mudharabah Muthlaqah akad for the Sharia Deposit feature.
"As soon as my Jago Syariah account was created, I create a Qurban Pocket. So, I saved money to buy a qurban for about 5 months. The Jago Syariah Pocket feature is really helpful because it keeps funds from getting mixed up between one need and another.”
By separating the qurban funds into a separate Pocket, Purnama also learns self-control.
“In the beginning, the qurban funds were often used. But over time, I learned to control myself because I realized that if funds have been separated, it means they shouldn't be used for other needs. The qurban savings was successfully achieved according to the target with Jago Syariah, alhamdulillah. I already bought the qurban.”
Having Other Pockets Besides the Qurban Pocket to Manage Money
Not only the Qurban Pocket, Purnama also has many other Pockets so that her finances are more organized.
“I already have Emergency Fund Pocket, School Tuition Pocket, also Daily Expenses Pocket and there are several more. Every 1st I do budgeting to ensure all my priority needs already have the funds required. After that, the money can be used for other needs besides emergency funds and child's education expenses.”
There Are GoPay and Bibit Pockets Too
Apart from the Pocket feature which makes it easy to separate savings and expenses in one application, Purnama also takes advantage of other conveniences offered by Jago Syariah, namely the digital ecosystem with GoPay and Bibit.
"I also have a GoPay Pocket. Whenever I want to top up my GoPay balance, all I have to do is move money from the Main Pocket to the GoPay Pocket in the Jago application. So I don't need to switch applications. GoPay top-ups from Jago Syariah also, alhamdulillah, reduce my expenses because it's free. My Bibit and Jago Syariah accounts are also linked. I hope that in the future I will have more mutual fund investments.”
