Jago Bank Account Registration Requires KTP, NPWP and Video Call
Why do you need to show your KTP when registering for a Jago account? Because this regulation was issued by the Financial Services Authority (OJK). The Jago team needs to validate your identity through the uploaded KTP.
By doing this, you can mitigate the risk of being a victim of fraud that is getting worse in Indonesia. Surely, you wouldn’t want your KTP being used by an irresponsible person to create an account under your name.
That’s why we need your KTP. You can simply take a picture of your KTP in a place with enough light. But, ensure that there is no glare on the KTP to avoid a blurry result. Relax, the information in your KTP will only be shared with Dukcapil who has information on all Indonesian citizens.
In addition to KTP, your NPWP is also required. This regulation, as you may have guessed, was not issued by Jago, but by the Bank of Indonesia. Your NPWP is required so that Jago can identify and verify your data. Some other purposes include mitigating the risks of money laundering and terrorist funding activities.
One more thing, to complete the registration process with Jago, we need to have a video call with you. Some of you may know this process as part of the Know Your Customer.
During a short video call, we just want to make sure that you are indeed the owner of the KTP that you previously uploaded.
A tip for the video call, you don’t have to change clothes or wear makeup. And, there is no need to be nervous. But, be sure that you are not wearing a hat or anything that covers the head and the area of the face. Another important thing is a stable internet connection. We just need a picture of you with your KTP.
