During Ramadan 2025, Bank Jago and Jago Syariah partnered with Dompet Dhuafa to launch the Jago Berbagi Donasi program. The funds collected were used for various community empowerment programs in Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta (DIY), Banjarnegara, and Banten, all aimed at improving the quality of life for local people.
Focus of Jago Berbagi Donasi 2025: Three Pillars of Goodness
1. Aloe vera processing economic empowerment program: Turning local potential into a premium product
This program aims to transform the local potential of Katongan Village in Gunungkidul Regency, DIY, into a prime source of income through aloe vera processing. The aloe vera, which is rich in benefits and easy to cultivate, is processed into innovative food products like candies and dodol. The program mainly targets 20 mothers who are members of the Women Farmers Group (KWT). Through training and mentoring, they are expected to produce at least 1,000 units of finished products and establish a minimum of three local sales points.
With the village's strategic location near Gunungkidul tourism hub, these processed aloe vera products have great potential to become souvenirs for tourists. This program is expected to enhance community skills, create a local product identity, and sustainably boost the economy of Katongan Village.
2. Dieng Banjarnegara tea economic empowerment program: Weaving hope amidst challenges
This program supports 215 tea farmers in the Dieng Plateau, Banjarnegara, who faced significant challenges after the closure of their primary tea factory. Previously, the farmers supplied 8 tons of tea leaves daily to the Pagilaran Tea Factory. However, the factory closed, leaving the farmers with outstanding debt. The only remaining factory could only process 6 tons per day at a much lower price, making farmers reluctant to harvest.
Amidst this difficulty, the Bedana Maju Tea Farmers MSME Group took the initiative to produce their own artisan tea. With support and training from the Central Java Provincial Office of Cooperatives and SMEs, they are now able to produce high-quality Black Tea and Green Tea, creating new hope for the economic sustainability of the farmers in Dieng.
3. Ambudhipa processed product economic empowerment program: Butterfly pea, educational hope from home gardens
Through the Ambudhipa MSME Program, the Rumah Momong community in Serang, Banten, is empowering low-income housewives. This program allows the women to earn income from selling butterfly pea flowers, packaging fees, and sales margins on processed products. Uniquely, all profits generated from this program are allocated as savings for their children's education.
This business unit focuses on processing butterfly pea flowers into innovative products like herbal tea, fresh drinks, and snacks. The women receive intensive training and mentoring and are involved in every stage, from planting to selling. The butterfly pea is easy to care for and weather-resistant, allowing the mothers to grow it in their home gardens. Currently, 35 mothers have joined, and the program is helping them overcome their worries about the cost of their children's education.
Sustainable Goodness, Shaping the Future
These empowerment programs have become a bridge to change, turning potential into independence and creating hope amidst challenges. The stories from Salaman Village, the Dieng Plateau, and Rumah Momong prove that collaboration and care can create a positive impact, providing real hope for those in need. None of this would have been possible without the donors, whose contributions helped the Jago Berbagi 2025 program successfully collect Rp125,000,000.
Seeing this positive impact, let's continue this wave of kindness. You can be part of this sustainable change by donating regularly.
