Jakarta, 20 November 2023 - Celebrating Financial Inclusion Month and World Mental Health Month, Bank Jago held Moneyfesting, a financial literacy workshop inviting the community to address financial anxieties.
Recently, the term "manifesting" has become popular. Manifesting is a practice widely adopted by people to give positive affirmations to themselves to achieve their goals or dreams. Positive affirmations are increasingly utilized by individuals to navigate through challenges they are facing, such as financial pressure or anxiety. Building on this trend, Bank Jago launched Moneyfesting. In collaboration with social activists concerned about mental health, Menjadi Manusia, the event took place at Plaza Indonesia, Central Jakarta (21/10/2023), involving more than 70 participants.
Key activities at the Moneyfesting workshop included inviting participants to create financial journals, participating in a talk show led by a certified financial planner, and vision board creation to help participants determine their financial dreams or goals precisely, which can then be achieved with effective financial management skills.
"As we know, mental health can affect daily life, physical health, and our relationships with others. After conducting research with top sources in Indonesia, it was found that many Indonesians experience excessive stress or anxiety caused by financial pressures. That's why the Moneyfesting workshop was held with the aim of helping everyone to be more mindful in managing their finances," said Brand Communication Manager at Bank Jago Aprilia Rizki.
In collaboration with Menjadi Manusia, a social activist actively engaged in various social media platforms since 2018. Led by Rhaka Ghanisatria, Adam Alfares Abednego, and Levina Purnamadewi, Menjadi Manusia also serves as a platform for individuals who want to share their concerns and questions about their life purpose.
Menjadi Manusia often discusses money, especially because people easily fall into the mindset of always needing more money and never feeling satisfied. To address this, the key is practicing money gratitude - being thankful for and appreciating the money we have.
Certified financial planner Annisa Steviani believes that the main foundation in financial matters is good financial planning. "To prevent stress from financial pressure, financial planning is one way to practice money gratitude. This can be done through disciplined budgeting. Regular budgeting maintains financial health, ensuring all needs are well met, including the need to achieve financial dreams and goals," she explained.
The Moneyfesting discussion topics are closely related to Bank Jago's aspiration, which is to the growth of millions through life-focused digital financial solutions that are available in the Jago App. To facilitate budgeting, the Jago App provides a feature called Pockets, which allows customers to separate money into different budget categories according to their needs and desires.
