Jakarta, 29 January 2024 - Pratomo Soedarsono, Head of People & Culture at PT Bank Jago Tbk, served as a speaker in an online discussion titled "The Future of Banking: Career in a Digital Bank" organized by Prasetiya Mulya University on Monday, 29 January 2024.
In the discussion attended by dozens of students and alumni of Prasetiya Mulya University, Pratomo Soedarsono introduced Bank Jago as a technology-based bank embedded within the digital ecosystem, committed to enhancing growth opportunities for millions by providing life-centric digital financial solutions.
During the session, Pratomo, commonly known as Tommy, shared his experiences in facing challenges of innovating bank services and ensuring the availability of digital talents.
One of Bank Jago's initiatives to address these challenges is the launch of the Jago Digital Academy (JDA) as a collaborative platform for tech talents to accelerate their digital knowledge and competence independently.
Through the JDA program, Tommy hopes to cultivate outstanding talents in the fields of technology and digital banking who are ready to enter the increasingly competitive job market. "Finding digital talent is not easy. There is a limited pool of qualified professionals, including engineers, data analysts, and tech-savvy bankers . We aim to address this challenge by establishing several initiatives at Bank Jago to help talents build their careers," he explained.
In building a fully digital bank, Tommy emphasized that Bank Jago not only focuses on developing reliable and secure IT and banking infrastructure but also ensures the availability of human resources (HR) with a digital mindset and work readiness.
This is done by creating a conducive work environment and sufficient supporting infrastructure so that talents can have a pleasant work experience and easily develop their capabilities to grow together with the company.
"We are not only looking for talented individuals but also building their competencies through a capability journey. Because the number of talents is vast, we have to create a digital framework for them to work and learn independently," he said.
Moreover, Bank Jago collaborates with strategic partners, including universities, in developing the JDA program as a self-paced digital learning method.
JDA has currently developed self-paced learning programs for 50 fields of study, divided into more than 200 learning modules focusing on three technical competency tracks: product management, engineering, and data science.
"This JDA is the result of discussions and collaborations among various stakeholders- academics, businesses, governments - on how to build a joint solution to enhance societal capabilities and create a digital environment not only internally but also externally, as part of Bank Jago's Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)," explained Tommy.
