JAKARTA, 31 January 2026 – PT Bank Jago Tbk, in collaboration with Stockbit and the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX), hosted an educational talk show titled "How to Become a Realistic Investor". The collaboration aims to encourage Indonesians to build financial health through safe and well-planned investments.
The talk show featured content creator Theo Derick, Bank Jago Digital Product Lead Yusuf Aria Putera, Stockbit Corporate Communication representative William, and IDX Senior Analyst Teja Amanda Putra. The event was tailored for beginner to intermediate investors to help them gain a more realistic understanding of investing and make wise financial decisions.
During the discussion, the speakers highlighted the phenomenon of rising public interest in investing, which is often accompanied by expectations of high returns in a short period. This condition has triggered what they called an "investment fantasy" — high expectations that are not balanced by an understanding of risk and the actual investment process.
Theo Derick explained that one of the biggest temptations for prospective investors is the promise of getting rich quick or high returns without risk. According to him, such narratives are often exploited by those offering fraudulent investments, meaning the public needs to be more cautious before placing their funds.
William and Yusuf added that social media also shapes the perception of instant investing that easily generates profits. Additionally, the FOMO (fear of missing out) behavior and a lack of research are often the main reasons individuals get trapped in inappropriate investment decisions.
The speakers emphasized the importance of distinguishing between realistic expectations and investment fantasies. Investors need to have clear financial goals, understand their risk profiles, study their chosen instruments and implement long-term investment strategies rather than chasing short-term gains.
From the capital market regulator's perspective, Teja Amanda Putra reminded the audience of the importance of choosing legal investment products registered with the Financial Services Authority (OJK). He also stressed that every investor must align their investment choices with their respective risk profiles to invest more safely and comfortably.
In the initial investment strategy session, Theo encouraged people to start investing as early as possible without waiting to have large capital. The main key is to consistently set aside a portion of income, practice financial discipline and focus on long-term goals.
Bank Jago also introduced various features that support financial management and investment, including sixty Jago Pockets that can be personalized according to user needs. Through integration with Stockbit, users can also enjoy a more practical investment experience, ranging from digital investor fund account (RDN) opening and easy top-ups to transactions connected directly to Bank Jago accounts.
In conclusion, the speakers reaffirmed that investing is not a shortcut to wealth. Investment success is built through good financial management habits, discipline, consistency and an understanding of risks. With the support of the Bank Jago and Stockbit digital ecosystem, the public is expected to invest more safely, comfortably and in line with their respective financial goals.
