Jakarta, 13 August, 2026 — PT Bank Jago Tbk has emphasized that it prioritizes collaboration within the digital ecosystem over developing a super app to create shared growth opportunities with partners and millions of customers.
Nicholas Tan, Retail Banking Director at Bank Jago, conveyed this statement during the Digital Banking Forum 2026, organized by CNBC Indonesia. The event, themed "Building a Future Digital Banking Ecosystem," brought together regulators and industry players to shape the future direction of national digital banking.
"We have no plans to become a super app. We have no intention of turning Bank Jago into a super app. Other digital applications and platforms in Indonesia already have their respective areas of expertise, and we do not want to replicate that. We choose to focus on the concept of embedded banking, integrating banking services directly into digital ecosystems that the public already trusts," Nicholas said.
He cited the integration of the Jago app with GoPay as a concrete example, allowing customers to link their Jago Pockets for daily transactions without needing manual top-ups or switching between apps. Similarly, collaborations with Bibit and Stockbit have successfully simplified investing for Jago app users.
According to Nicholas, Bank Jago's strategic partnerships with digital ecosystems such as GoTo, Bibit, and Stockbit offer mutual benefits, including more efficient customer acquisition, collaborative product innovation, and technology transfer opportunities.
On technological innovation, Nicholas said Bank Jago has begun using artificial intelligence to understand customer preferences and financial behavior. This serves as the foundation for developing features and services that remain relevant to current trends and needs. One example is responsible lending: by understanding customer financial behavior, Bank Jago offers credit tailored to users' repayment capacity and financial health.
"Equally important for a digital bank is building robust cybersecurity and anti-fraud systems," he said.
To achieve this, Nicholas added, Bank Jago implements a three-pillar security system focusing on device updates, technology, and customer education. Efforts to drive financial inclusion and literacy are realized through educational features such as Pocket, Spending Analysis, and Credit Score. Moving forward, Bank Jago's growth priorities rest on expanding wealth management products, extending loans, leveraging AI, and optimizing ecosystems.
"Customer trust is the primary pillar of our business. We achieve this by prioritizing transparency for our customers. There are no hidden pricings, and no hidden terms and conditions," Nicholas said.
At the conclusion of the event, CNBC Indonesia presented the "Digital Banking Experience Award" to PT Bank Jago Tbk for its leadership in delivering trusted and sustainable ecosystem-based digital banking integration.
