Depok, August 16, 2024 – Practitioners from PT Bank Jago Tbk provided financial management tips and career motivation during the “Orientasi Pengenalan Kampus” (campus orientation/OPK) for new students of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Indonesia (FEB UI) academic year 2024/2025.

More than 850 FEB UI students attended Bank Jago's talk show session, featuring Head of Consumer Business Trio Lumbantoruan, Head of People & Culture Pratomo Soedarsono, and Value Proposition Manager Muhammad Pandu.

Trio Lumbantoruan opened the discussion by sharing his experiences as a student and explaining the developments and challenges of the banking industry in the current digital era. Bank Jago is one of the pioneering tech-based banks that aims to address these challenges by considering lifestyle trends and Indonesia's demographic potential, which is dominated by young, internet-savvy consumers.

"At Bank Jago, we see an opportunity to transform the experience of Indonesian consumers, who are largely tech-savvy youth, by presenting the Jago Application, which can be personalized for financial management and embedded within the digital ecosystem," Trio explained.

In terms of financial management, Muhammad Pandu encouraged new FEB UI students to openly discuss various financial issues and start paying attention to their financial health. According to him, there are four levels of human financial maturity, measured by their financial focus.

"The first is financial security, or being financially secure to cover basic personal needs. The second is financial resilience, or having better financial endurance. Next is financial control, or having financial management skills, and finally, financial freedom," he stated.

He added that everyone has different problems and needs, and their own way of managing finances. That's why the Jago App is designed to allow customers to flexibly design their own financial solutions easily and seamlessly, as it's integrated with a strong digital ecosystem, including Gopay, Gojek, Tokopedia, as well as Bibit and Stockbit for investments.

In the next talk show session, Pratomo Soedarsono, or Tommy as he’s commonly called, introduced Bank Jago's work culture and values as a tech-based bank embedded in the digital ecosystem. He also equipped students with various knowledge and basic understanding of business models, opportunities, challenges, and human resource management skills.

"One of the biggest challenges in the digital banking industry today is the scarcity of digital talent, banks' ability to adopt rapidly evolving technology, and the need to improve public digital maturity," Tommy revealed.

Tommy added that Bank Jago is a combination of a startup culture with a sustainable banking business strategy. Therefore, Bank Jago believes that diversity is a key driver for innovation.

"With diverse expertise and backgrounds, every 'Jagoan' (Bank Jago employee) brings their own unique knowledge and experience," Tommy continued.
