Bank Jago’s Financial Education Program in 2025 to Strengthen
the Financial Capacity of Teachers in Indonesia
Jakarta, 28 November 2025 – Bank Jago successfully held Guru Jago Finansial, a series of financial education and literacy programs conducted throughout 2025, with teacher communities as one of its primary target audiences. This initiative was driven by the reality that financial literacy levels among educators remain relatively low. According to the National Survey of Financial Literacy and Inclusion conducted by the Financial Services Authority (OJK), the national financial literacy index stands at around 49%, while financial literacy among workers in the education sector is recorded to be lower than that of other professions—particularly in terms of understanding long-term financial planning and digital financial management.
In response to this challenge, in 2025 Bank Jago reached more than 700 teachers and education professionals across various regions in Indonesia, including DKI Jakarta, Banten, Yogyakarta Special Region (DIY), and Central Java. This program is part of Bank Jago’s ongoing commitment to promoting financial literacy and inclusion, especially among teachers who play a strategic role in shaping the financial habits and mindsets of future generations. The educational activities were designed to be relevant and practical, covering both conventional and Sharia-based financial literacy formats.
The materials delivered focused on daily financial management, future planning, investment, and the safe and responsible use of digital banking services. Bank Jago equipped teachers not only as users, but also as financial literacy agents within their schools and communities.
Key achievements of the Guru Jago Finansial 2025 program include:
- Broad Reach and Strategic Collaboration: Seven activities were carried out through collaborations with various partners, including OJK, media, and other institutions that share Bank Jago’s vision.
- Focus on Teacher Communities: All activities specifically targeted teacher communities, with the aim of equipping them with practical knowledge on money management, saving, and healthy investment practices.
- Financial Simulations: On several occasions, the program employed simulation-based methods to provide teachers with hands-on experience in managing finances.
Through the continued development of the Guru Jago Finansial program, Bank Jago remains committed to delivering financial education that is increasingly inclusive, practical, and adaptive to digital advancements. This effort aims to ensure that educators have a strong financial foundation, are well-prepared to face economic challenges, and are able to serve as agents of change in improving financial literacy within schools and the wider community.
