Jakarta, October 18th, 2023 - Bank Jago and GoTo Financial have officially launched GoPay Tabungan by Jago, the first savings product in Indonesia born from a collaboration of a bank and fintech player.
GoPay Tabungan by Jago is a Bank Jago savings product specifically designed to be embedded in the Gopay and Gojek apps, which makes it simple to use just as electronic money does.
"GoPay Tabungan by Jago is the first savings account in Indonesia for your daily transactions that combines simple features of electronic money (e-money) services and benefits of a bank product," says Hans Patuwo, President of Financial Technology Business Unit at GoTo.
Hans says that the initiative is part of GoPay's evolutionary journey in providing a variety of innovative financial services, following the launch of GoPay app in July 2023.
"Previously, GoPay was only a payment service. Now, GoPay can also be used for transfers, saving money for daily transactions, and applying for loans. All in just one application," Hans says.
Bank Jago President Director Arief Harris Tandjung said that the presence of GoPay Tabungan by Jago is part of the continuation of the strategic collaboration between GoTo and Bank Jago.
"This collaboration is one of our ways to serve customers at any time and any place," Arief says.
Arief says that Jago and GoTo have the same mission, which is the belief that collaboration between banks and digital ecosystems is the key to creating innovation to accelerate financial inclusion through a financial app that is simple, safe, and needs less phone capacity.
"GoPay Tabungan by Jago enables us to reach the lowest segments of society, most of whom still use mobile phones with limited memory capacity," Arief says.
Bank Jago and GoTo Financial launched the GoPay Tabungan by Jago at XXI Lounge Plaza Senayan, Jakarta, Wednesday (18/10/2023). The event was attended by media colleagues, women members of the Gopay Buddy community, representatives of Gojek driver partners, and other stakeholders.
