Jago Syariah app is designed as a life-centric finance solution which fulfills the customers’ needs who want to have sharia digital banking products and services that are as advanced as those of conventional banks.
Bandung, 17 December 2022 - Aiming to increase financial literacy in Indonesia and support the growth of sharia segmentation through a life-centric digital financial solution, PT Bank Jago Tbk held a financial education event in Bandung with the theme “2023 Resolution: More Blessings in Managing Finances According to Sharia Principles”.
Head of Sharia Business Bank Jago, Roy Iskandar, and financial planner and the Founder of Finante, Rista Zwestika, were presented as the speakers at the event. Attended by members of various communities, this event was held to give education on how to manage finances effectively, comply with sharia principles, and also to introduce Jago Sharia.
Bank Jago learns that Indonesians are still facing challenges in managing daily finances, from being disciplined, having self-control in managing finances, to separating money for different purposes . According to Rista Zwestika, a hectic lifestyle makes us prone to being trapped in financial challenges, such as difficulty of self-control that often makes us fail in achieving our financial goals. Therefore, the first step to determine our financial resolution is to make financial goals with SMART; Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, and Timely.
Rista also added that financial management can be done as early as possible and there is no need to wait for better financial conditions for budgeting and allocating money for different purposes. “Separating money for different purposes in different pockets is a system that has been known for a long time by Indonesians. Thanks to technological development, digital banking applications can help us to separate our money for different purposes;, for saving, paying debt, social gathering, charity, and donation, “ she said.
As a tech-based bank, Bank Jago developed Jago App that is designed to be customized and personalized according to each customer’s needs. Jago App is available both in conventional and sharia, and can be used by all market segmentations, from retail market (consumer), mass market, to Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
Similar to the conventional Jago App, Bank Jago designed Jago Sharia features with life aspect as the main priority and finances as the next priority. “Bank Jago introduced Jago Sharia for the sharia segment to provide them innovations and features that are advanced as Jago conventional, but still with sharia principles,” said Roy Iskandar.
One of the key features in Jago Sharia is “Pockets” that is designed to be a supporting tool to manage finances and separate money for different needs.
Customers can create up to 40 pockets with each pocket having a different account number, for various needs such as pocket for spending, saving, pilgrimage/umrah, zakat, business pocket, emergency fund, and others depending on the needs. Customers can also track the cash flow in each pocket through the app.
“As a bank that utilizes up-to-date technology, Jago Sharia is designed to enable customers to manage their finances practically. Jago Sharia is already integrated with digital ecosystems in Indonesia such as Gojek, GoPay, and also digital investment apps, such as Bibit,” said Roy.
Moreover, Jago Sharia also has “Shared Pocket” feature that enables customers to manage finances through the pocket with family, relatives, and friends. Customers can give access to the invited person, to see the account details, monitor the transactions, and make money transfers.
“We hope that Jago Sharia could answer the public’s desire for a digital bank app sharia based. Bank Jago certainly will add more features and expand the collaborations with ecosystems to make the financial management and transactions easier,” Roy concluded.
