Jakarta, December 9, 2023 – Publicly listed Bank Jago, through its Sharia Business Unit (Jago Syariah), participates in the Halal Indonesia International Trade Show (Halal Fair) at the ICE BSD in Tangerang, December 8 to 10, 2023.
More than 250 local and international exhibitors join the massive exhibition to promote halal products. Held by Indonesian event organizer PT Wahyu Promo Citra, the expo offers various events which combine concepts of commerce, education, entertainment, and faith.
As part of its efforts to help people manage their finances in a peaceful and blessed manner, Jago Syariah held an educational talk show with the theme of “Becoming Sakinah with Sharia Finance” at the Halal Fair. Sharia Supervisory Board Member of Bank Jago Muhammad Maksum, content creator Benazio Rizki Putra (Benakribo), and Head of Sharia Financing at Bank Jago Agung Lesmana took the stage as the speakers.
“Managing finances together in a family is not an easy task, especially when there are a lot of needs. Openness and collaboration are important aspects in a family financial planning. We are able to allocate our budget according to our needs and collaborate together in using the pocket (Kantong) feature,” Benakribo said.
Muhammad Maksum believes that the technological advancement of sharia banking can help increase sharia financial inclusion. “Therefore, the banking industry should offer sharia products and services that are more competitive, easy to access, effective, and efficient. Digitalization will eventually widen accessibility to a larger sharia finance ecosystem,” he said.
Agung Lesmana says that the participation of Jago Syariah as the sponsorship partner of Halal Fair 2023 is a form of its commitment to increasing opportunities for millions of people to grow through digital sharia financial solutions.
“By supporting the annual event (Halal Fair 2023), we hope we can contribute to the development of the national halal industry. At the same time, we can also increase sharia financial inclusion and literacy in Indonesia,” Agung said.
Agung adds that literacy is one of main factors to accelerate national economy and sharia finance. For that reason, Jago Syariah was born as a digital banking service which offers solutions to consumers wishing to manage their finances based on sharia principles.

In addition, Bank Jago and GoTo Financial collaborate in a new product called GoPay Tabungan Syariah by Jago. The product is the first sharia savings account in Indonesia coming from a collaboration between the advantages of a bank and the simplicity of a digital wallet.
GoPay Tabungan Syariah by Jago is a daily transactional bank account using the Wadiah Yad Dhamanah contract. It offers functions and features equal to the conventional one in Bank Jago. At the same time, it differs from the conventional one in terms of its compliance with sharia rules and principles approved by the National Sharia Board of the Indonesian Ulema Council (DSN MUI).
“We hope this breakthrough and collaboration will not only provide the sharia-abiding people access to formal financial services, but also offer opportunities for them to grow or improve their economics,” Agung said.
