Jakarta, 28 September 2024 - PT Bank Jago Tbk and PT Bibit Tumbuh Bersama (Bibit) held an investment strategy talk show titled Curhat Uangku at Epicentrum XXI, Jakarta. The talk show invited financial planner Olivia Louise, Bank Jago’s Digital Product Lead Yusuf Aria Putera, and prominent author Raditya Dika to share their knowledge and experience on the importance of investing.
Yusuf Aria Putera stated that investment can begin by disciplining oneself in managing and allocating money. In managing finances, many challenges are often faced by Indonesians. Some of these include irresistible promotions and discounts that lead to unnecessary spending, as well as unexpected expenses that disrupt one’s intention and consistency in investing.
As a technology-based bank, Bank Jago has developed the Jago Application, which can be customized and personalized according to each customer’s needs and financial goals. In managing finances, the Jago App uses a feature called Pockets.
Jago App users can create up to 60 pockets, with each having its own account number. This makes it easier for users to manage incoming and outgoing funds directly from the desired pocket, preventing funds from mixing and simplifying the achievement of financial goals.
“As such, being tempted by promotions and having fun is not a problem, as long as the budget is available, allocated, and does not interfere with other needs, including investments,” Yusuf said.
Another unique feature is that the Jago App can be integrated into various digital ecosystems or apps that are closely related to daily life, such as the GoTo ecosystem (Gojek, GoPay, Tokopedia-TikTok) and the Bibit and Stockbit digital investment platforms. Yusuf explained that this collaboration and integration with these ecosystems not only makes access to digital services easier but also simplifies financial management for users.
“Bank Jago collaborates with strategic ecosystem partner Bibit to provide interconnected financial products and services. This makes it easy, fast, and seamless for customers to manage finances and invest as they wish,” he said.
Customers can purchase Bibit mutual fund products directly from the Jago App and use the Jago Autodebit payment method to save regularly on Bibit. Additionally, customers can view their investment portfolios from the Jago App. By upgrading to Bibit Plus, customers can even purchase stocks and fixed-rate bonds using Jago’s customer fund accounts (RDN).
Olivia Louise also emphasized that investing should be done as early as possible. According to her, customers can take advantage of compound interest so that investment returns can multiply. This method can be implemented by beginner investors using safe investment instruments like money market mutual funds and bonds.
To help achieve financial goals, Bibit has introduced the Systematic Investment Plan (SIP) feature. This feature, in collaboration with Bank Jago, allows for automatic and regular fund withdrawals for investment so that investors do not have to worry about manually transferring funds or forgetting to invest on scheduled dates.
“You don’t have to wait to invest until you have a lot of money. Such reasons make us feel like money is never enough. In today’s digital era, investing is very easy through digital applications like Jago and Bibit, starting from as little as IDR 100,000,” Olivia said. Investing in Bibit also comes with no top-up fees for purchases and offers instant withdrawal options for certain investment products.
Last August, Bank Jago and Bibit also launched a digital-based sharia customer fund account (RDN) to provide ease of investment using sharia principles in Indonesia’s capital market. With the Jago Syariah RDN, customers can invest in mutual funds, State Sharia Securities (SBSN), and stocks specifically for sharia-compliant investment instruments according to the fatwa of the National Sharia Council of the Indonesian Ulema Council (DSN-MUI).
The launch of Jago Syariah RDN aligns with Bank Jago's commitment, through the Jago Syariah App, to provide digital financial products and services for the sharia segment with innovations and features as advanced as the conventional Jago App, using sharia principles. This includes easy, collaborative, and innovative financial management, as well as performing various financial transactions in one application according to the user's needs.
