Bank Jago encourages communities in Makassar to step up their skills in managing finances based on sharia principles
Makassar, 23 July 2022 - Playing an active role in promoting financial literacy in Indonesia, Bank Jago organized a financial education event attended by various communities in Makassar. With the theme "Enhancing Financial Management with Sharia Principles," this financial education activity is part of Bank Jago's commitment to improving financial inclusion and literacy in Indonesia.
Bank Jago observes that household financial management remains a challenge, such as monitoring daily expenses or separating funds according to each need. Understanding the importance of separating funds according to each need, including separating personal and business finances, continues to be a challenge for some people.
Technology can be a solution for people to better manage their finances. Financial planner Dewi RD Amelia stated that technological acceleration increasingly enables financial management using digital financial applications.
"To manage and separate finances according to each need, the envelope system has long been known in Indonesian. Thanks to technological advancements, digital applications can help us directly separate money according to its categories," she said.
As a technology-based bank, Bank Jago has developed the Jago App, designed to be embedded in various digital ecosystems, and can be customized and personalized according to the needs of each customer, including in managing finances easily, innovatively, and collaboratively. Through the Jago App, customers can conduct a variety of financial transactions in one application, whether conventional or sharia compliant, with equivalent features and services.
To ensure the sharia segment can experience the same level of innovation and features as the conventional Jago App with sharia principles, Bank Jago launched Jago Syariah App.
Head of Sharia Business at Bank Jago, Roy Iskandar, stated that, similar to the conventional Jago App, the features of the Jago Syariah App are designed to meet current (now), future (tomorrow), and together needs. "Currently, we see that there are no sharia banks that provide digital services with features and innovations as advanced as conventional banking," he said.
One of the flagship features in both the Jago and Jago Syariah App is "Pocket." The Pocket feature is designed to be a supporting tool for managing and separating finances according to each need.
"As a bank that utilize the latest technology, the Jago Syariah App is designed for customers to implement the envelope system more practically and connect to various digital ecosystems," Roy explained.
Customers can create up to 40 pockets for various needs such as expenses, savings, Hajj/Umrah, Zakat, business pockets, emergency funds, and others as needed. Customers can also monitor the flow of funds in and out of each pocket directly through the application.
Recognizing the importance of financial management skills in improving the growth opportunities of Indonesian society, Bank Jago, through its conventional and sharia-based financial services, will continue to expand financial inclusion and promote financial literacy in Indonesia. This commitment is a manifestation of Bank Jago's aspiration to enhance the growth of millions through life-focused digital financial solutions.
