Makassar, 30 November, 2023 - PT Bank Jago Tbk, a technology-based bank embedded in the digital ecosystem, participated in the Bisnis Indonesia Goes to Campus event at Universitas Negeri Makassar.

In this event, Consumer Business Brand Manager at Bank Jago, Muhammad Pandu, and renowned influencer from Makassar, Anggu Batary were invited as speakers to provide insights on financial and digital literacy to around 200 students from various universities in Makassar.

"Students are a group with an age range that should already possess good financial management skills, which will be very useful for them as they enter the workforce," said Pandu.

He noted that managing finances is a challenge for many people, especially for millennials and Gen Z, who tend to struggle with financial management due to high consumption habits. This issue is often underestimated, whereas the ability to manage finances well is essential for securing the future.

In fact, Pandu continued, digitalization has given rise to many financial and banking applications that make it easier for young generations to manage their finances wisely from an early age. One such example is the Jago App, equipped with features like Kantong or Pockets, which can be the right solution for young generations to start investing and managing finances consistently. With the Jago App, Bank Jago customers can create up to 40 different Pockets according to their needs, which can be linked not only to debit cards but also to strategic partner applications such as Gopay, Gojek, Tokopedia, Bibit, and Stockbit.

"The Jago App is designed as a digital financial solution, which makes it easy for users to allocate money and savings, for example, for transportation, entertainment, or long-term savings. Everything can be arranged according to the user's preferences so that expenses are more organized, and the life goals become clearer," explained Pandu.

At the same event, influencer Anggu Batary also shared her experience when starting her business. For her, starting a business without capital is possible, as long as one can build trust with potential customers and be creative in promoting through social media. Once potential buyers are convinced of the product’s quality, trust grows simultaneously, making customers more confident in purchasing the product.

"If you want to start a business without capital, it's really possible. The first thing is willingness. If there is a willi, our brain starts working and there will definitely be a way. After the willingness, cultivate trust in the customers, so that our products can sell and be beneficial," she expressed.

Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Business Indonesia, Rahayuningsih, stated that the Bisnis Indonesia Goes to Campus event was held as an effort to enhance the quality of financial and digital literacy among students, who are notably the younger generation.

"Knowledge in digital, financial, and entrepreneurial aspects can be their preparation for the future. The hope is that the enhancement of this capacity can serve as preparation in carrying the baton for Indonesia's golden age in 2045," Rahayu explained.
