Jakarta, 10 July 2024 – In an effort to boost tourism and commemorate the 497th anniversary of Jakarta, PT Bank Jago Tbk supported the Abang-None Jakarta Barat 2024 event. The support included workshops and financial literacy discussions titled "Financial Literacy for a Smarter Jakarta: Building a Smart City with Smart People."
During the event, Aprilia Safitri, Brand and Strategy Lead of PT Bank Jago Tbk, encouraged the finalists to openly discuss their financial issues. She found that the inability to manage finances wisely and poor investment management were the main challenges for the 30 finalists of Abang-None Jakarta Barat 2024 in achieving financial freedom.
"The key to achieving financial freedom is having control over our money, as money is not a tool to satisfy desires but a vehicle towards financial freedom," Aprilia emphasized at the West Jakarta City Hall on Wednesday (10/7/2024).
According to Aprilia, the most effective way to reach financial goals is through budgeting. "Budgeting protects us from being impulsive or overspending," she explained.
Addressing these issues, Aprilia stated that Bank Jago has designed app-based products and services that integrate into the digital ecosystems and can be customized to individual needs. The Jago App also features “Pockets”and Spend Analysis tools, which not only help users manage their finances neatly but also foster disciplined budgeting habits.

"Bank Jago also recognizes the importance of building positive and productive financial habits through investment. Therefore, the Jago App provides a “Pocket” feature that can connect to the Bibit App, making it easier for anyone to invest," Aprilia added.
On the same occasion, Pebriani Artha, Product Marketing Lead at PT Bibit Tumbuh Bersama (Bibit), explained the importance of early investment to minimize asset depreciation due to inflation and prepare for planned or unplanned future needs such as emergency funds, retirement funds, or other financial goals. "Time is the best friend of investing; the earlier we start, the greater the value of our assets. This is known as the magic of compound interest," she explained.
Pebriani also noted that for beginners, a goal-based investment approach can simplify investing by addressing three key questions: what goal to achieve, when to achieve it, and how much risk to take to reach that goal. She explained that goal-based investment helps people avoid FOMO (fear of missing out) or impulsive investing.
According to Pebriani, with the Jago and Bibit Apps, investments can be customized based on personal preferences, including product type, timing, and financial goals. "One such feature is the SIP (Systematic Investment Plan), which builds a routine investment habit by using the auto-debit method from Jago Pockets for investments in Bibit," she concluded.

As part of the same event series, Bank Jago previously invited the 30 finalists of Abang-None Jakarta Barat 2024 to experience the convenience of shopping using the Jago App in Kota Tua, Jakarta (23 June, 2024). This activity also aimed to support the development of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and tourism in the DKI Jakarta area.
