Yogyakarta, 12 September 2026 — PT Bank Jago Tbk provided financial management and investment education to hundreds of college and high school students at the Gen Z Impact Fest 2026, hosted by Suara.com at the Gadjah Mada University Club Hotel in Yogyakarta.
The event aligns with Bank Jago’s mission to expand financial growth and health opportunities for millions of people, particularly the younger generation.
During a panel titled "In This Economy: Smart Money Management and Starting Investments Young," Andhina Ratri Aryani, Bank Jago's Sustainability Program Activation Specialist, highlighted the ongoing cost-of-living crisis. She noted that current economic uncertainty often triggers the "lipstick effect," the tendency to buy small, inexpensive luxury items when personal finances are tight.
Andhina, a certified financial planner, tailored her presentation to help young people navigate rising living expenses. She urged students to evaluate their financial habits, distinguish between immediate needs and future wants, and build an emergency fund covering at least three months of living expenses.
Beyond theory, Andhina shared practical budget allocation simulations for students' daily lives. She said the goal is to help students move beyond living month-to-month toward financial stability by gaining full control over their spending and ultimately achieving financial freedom. She acknowledged that this journey comes with challenges, particularly the temptation to spend money on lifestyle trends and new experiences.
"Financial priorities can shift, but managing money always requires a strong and healthy foundation, where separating savings, staying disciplined with budget allocations using our Pockets feature, and preparing an emergency fund are simple first steps to ensure young people don't just enjoy today, but stay secure tomorrow," Andhina said.
Once a savings habit is established, the discussion turned to investing with limited capital while avoiding trend-chasing and fraudulent investment schemes. Andhina introduced features in the Jago app that let users create up to 60 "Pockets", which function like separate bank accounts in one app to compartmentalize funds. With automated budgeting and direct integration with investment platforms such as Bibit and Stockbit, students can easily put financial and investment strategies into practice.
The educational content stems from Bank Jago's Financial Health Framework. This initiative forms part of the bank's sustainability program, which targets three United Nations Sustainable Development Goals: no poverty, quality education, and decent work and economic growth.
"We hope this joint educational effort between Bank Jago and Suara.com serves as an important stepping stone for students, as financial literacy isn't just about numbers, but about having the confidence to make the right decisions, from managing debt productively to taking steps toward long-term financial freedom," Andhina asserted.
