Surabaya - 1 August 2026 – PT Bank Jago Tbk is strengthening its commitment to enhancing growth opportunities for millions of people through two major event series in Surabaya, East Java. In collaboration with Suara.com, Bank Jago supported the Jatim Media Summit (JMS) 2026 to foster collaboration with the media industry and hosted the Guru Jago Finansial program to equip hundreds of educators with artificial intelligence skills and financial health management practices.

During a session at the Jatim Media Summit on Thursday, July 30, Bank Jago Corporate Communication Lead Marchelo emphasized that digital banking is no longer just a smartphone application, but a financial ecosystem integrated with modern business needs.

"At Bank Jago, we believe change cannot be achieved alone. Through collaboration with GoTo, Bibit, and Stockbit, we are embedded within the digital ecosystem to streamline operations for the creative industry," he said.

Marchelo explained that managing money effectively is an essential skill for anyone aiming for success, including media practitioners and local MSMEs. A common financial challenge is separating personal from business income and expenses.

"That is why we introduced the Pockets feature in the Jago app. It is like separating money into multiple envelopes, but in a digital version. Customers can easily separate personal funds, business operations, employee salaries, and investments in one place, without worrying about administrative fees," Marchelo said.

He added that media practitioners and local MSMEs can also adopt the money-management concept behind the Pockets feature to digitize their financial management. He noted that East Java holds immense potential for the digital creative economy.

"To that end, we invite local media practitioners to begin digitizing their financial management as a first step toward achieving financial independence and becoming healthy, investment-ready businesses," he said.

The collaboration between Bank Jago and Suara.com continued on Saturday, August 1, delivering financial literacy training to hundreds of teachers from across East Java, including Jember, Kediri, Mojokerto, and Sidoarjo. Through the Guru Jago Finansial program, educators were guided to assess their financial health and identify solutions.

During the session, Andhina Ratri Aryani, Bank Jago Sustainability Program Activation Specialist and a Certified Financial Planner (CFP), encouraged teachers to conduct regular financial checkups to prepare for future financial dynamics.

"Just as the body needs a medical checkup, our financial condition also needs to be checked periodically. Many of us work hard, but never truly measure whether our monthly cash flow is healthy, whether our emergency fund is sufficient, or if our debt burden exceeds safe limits," Andhina said.

According to Andhina, building financial health for educators begins with understanding four key levels: financial control, financial resilience, financial security, and financial freedom. Achieving these levels requires a habit of categorizing money according to priority needs.

"At Bank Jago, we simplify this process through the Pockets feature in the Jago app. Teachers can separate up to 60 pockets according to their goals, such as Daily Needs Pockets, Emergency Fund Pockets, and Retirement or Children's Education Savings Pockets. By grouping money from the start, we gain clear direction in managing it and avoid impulsive spending," she explained.

Through the synergy between the Jatim Media Summit 2026 and Guru Jago Finansial, Bank Jago aims to continue expanding its contribution toward building an inclusive digital ecosystem while improving financial literacy and resilience among educators in East Java.
