Tangerang Selatan, 30 August 2024 – To help young people design their goals and choose the right career path, PT Bank Jago Tbk introduced its self-paced learning program, Jago Digital Academy (JDA), to hundreds of young participants of the Local Project AIESEC Universitas Islam Negeri (UIN) Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta.
"JDA is a collaborative platform for tech talents to accelerate their digital knowledge and competencies independently. Through this program, we hope to develop top talents in technology and digital banking who are ready to enter an increasingly competitive job market," said Riski Jaka Lalana, People Partner Lead at Bank Jago, as he concluded the Local Project AIESEC UIN Syarif Hidayatullah event at Padepokan Aswaja, Ciputat, Tangerang Selatan, on Friday (08/30/2024).
According to Riski, the Indonesian banking industry has undergone tremendous transformation in recent years, in line with the rapid growth of the middle class and the national digital ecosystem. This situation presents both an opportunity and a challenge for tech-based banks, not only in innovating services but also in ensuring the availability of increasingly needed digital talent.
"Our experience at Bank Jago is that finding digital talent in Indonesia isn't easy. There's a skill gap between the human resources produced by universities and the digital talent that we and other industry players need. This is the challenge we aim to address through JDA,” said Riski.
In developing the JDA program, Bank Jago collaborates with strategic partners, including universities. JDA has currently developed a self-paced learning program for 50 fields of study, divided into over 200 learning modules and focusing on three technical skill tracks: Product Management, Engineering, and Data Science.
On the same occasion, Riski also introduced the positive goals and values that every digital talent should ideally possess, especially if they aspire to work at Bank Jago.
"These include always seeking digital solutions that can serve all aspects of human life (life-centricity), the drive to grow and improve continuously (purposeful growth), the courage to challenge norms and create innovative solutions (fearless creativity), and the ability to adapt quickly and make sound decisions (empowered agility)," he explained.
Riski also encouraged the students participating in the AIESEC Local Project at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah to understand their passions and master their skills as a foundation for choosing a career path and pursuing success. According to him, this process requires deep reflection and honest self-assessment so that each individual can find a role that aligns with their strengths and passions.
"Many young people, including my own child, don't know what goals they want to achieve when choosing a university major or job. Ideally, we should first determine what we want to become, and then decide on the field of study and everything else," Riski concluded.
